<a href="http://www.giten.net" target=_blank">Swami Dhyan Giten's meditative art has been nominated by the international committe to participate in The Biennale Internazionale DellŽArte in Florence, Italy. Artists must be nominated by the committe to participate in the Biennale. The Biennale will take place from the 3rd to the 11th of December, 2005, in the exhibition space of the historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence. More than 2000 artists have participated in the Florence Biennale since its inauguration in 1997. In 2001 The United Nations recognized the Florence Biennale as an official partner in the program "Dialogue Among Nations".
Kofi Annan, general secretary for The United Nations says: "Artists have a special role to play in the global struggle for peace. At their best, artists speak not only to people; they speak for them. Art is a weapon against ignorance and hatred and an agent of public awareness ... Art opens new doors for learning, understanding, and peace among people and nations."
Giten says: "Meditative art is born out of the insight that life is already one. In the depth of our heart, we already know that we are perfect as we are. In the depth of our inner being, we already know that life is perfect as it is."
Giten has also presented Kofi Annan with three reproductions of his meditative art as a way to say thank you and as a source of love, truth and beauty.
Swami Dhyan Giten has 22 years of experience in teaching awareness and meditation. He has been a meditator since 27 years. He is author of the book Song of Meditation - About Meditation, Relationships and Spiritual Creativity (Solrosens forlag, Swedish edition, 2001).
